History of Astrology

Among European peoples, astrology has been historically used to predict seasonal shifts and celestial cycles as sources of divine communication.  Astrology began as way to predict seasonal changes as astrology cycles.  There were early recordings of this on bones and cave walls as long as 25 000 years ago.  Babylonian astrology was the first
organized system of astrology created around the 2nd millenium BC. The Babylonian interests in astrology chiefly concerned around celestial omens ,  regarding affairs of welfare of the state and Kings.

Around the 6th century BC, horoscopic and natal astrology was developed. In the great city of Alexandria in Egypt,  Babylonian astrology and Egyptian decanic astrology was combined to create horoscopic astrology. his contained the Babylonian zodiac with its system of planetary exaltations, the triplicities of the signs and the importance of eclipses. Along with this it incorporated the Egyptian concept of dividing the zodiac into thirty-six decans of ten degrees each, with an emphasis on the rising decan, the Greek system of planetary Gods, sign rulership and four elements.

Up until the 17th century AD, astrology was considered a scholarly tradition and accepted in intellectual and political circles. It helped develop the study of astronomy. As the scientific revolution moved on, heliocentricism ( the belief that our solar system is centered around the Sun rather than the Earthcentric model of astronomy) gained popularity and astrology fell out of favor. In the early twentieth century,  astrology gained new popular culture acceptance as newspapers published daily horoscopes derived from
astrology.

How to Read your Natal Chart

265_original

Today we will be speaking about how to read your astrology natal chart.

We would start by  determining what signs and houses the various planets are located in.
To simplify, we can think of the planets as “what ” we like to do,  like Neptune would
be “to dream”, Mercury would be “to communicate.” The signs would be interpreted as
“how” we do a certain thing.  So a Moon in Capricorn might be interpreted as someone
who is somewhat reserved in emotion and has some troubles with communicating feelings. Then finally, the houses are “where” we do what we do. The first house is the
house of appearance, the second the house of material possessions, and so on. Someone with Mercury in the tenth house might denote that this person will have a career in the field of communication.

You must know that every piece is a part of the whole in the astrology wheel. When you
are reading what happens in the first house, you are only touching on 1/12th of the entire elephant so to speak.  Your reading might include areas that seem to contradict eachother.
But upon more investigation, we realize this is not so. Say a person has Saturn in Capricorn in the 7th House, which could manifest as a reserved (Capricorn) attitude in love relationships (7th House). Then, say this same individual has Venus in Sagittarius in the 11thHouse. This person will be friendly and outgoing (Sagittarius) in social situations and groups (11th House), but unemotional and detached (although dependable) in love relationships (Saturn in Capricorn in the 7th).

Also, when interpreting the planets in their signs , you must remember to read the aspects.
The aspects are mathematical angles you can draw between the planets. Aspects will
tell us the manner in which energies are played out between the earth, one planet and another planet. Sextiles (60 degreees angles) and Trines (120 angle degrees) denote a fortunate, easy flow of energies.  Squares( 90 degree angles) denote restrictions. One
needs to work harder to overcome the challenge of halted flow of energy between planets
in square aspects.

One must remember that astrology does not determine our destiny. It only tells us certain drives and inclinations our innerselves and lifepaths may acquire. It still gives us opportunity to take advantage of easy, fortunate aspects of our chart and to overcome
the difficult aspects. Free astrology readings are avalailable at www.astrology-reports-today.com. Take the first step to get your free natal chart and short interpretation there.
